Start selling on eBay: the business checklist

Use this checklist before you register, so your account starts on a solid footing.

Business

• Registered company or sole trader, with registration and VAT numbers ready.
• Business bank account in the company's name.
• Company email address and phone number.

Products

• List of products you plan to sell, with EAN/GTIN codes where available.
• Check that none of them are prohibited or restricted on eBay.
• Good photos: white background, at least 1600 px on the longest side.

Operations

• Shipping options and prices for your main markets.
• Return policy (30 days is standard for many categories).
• Who will answer buyer messages, and how quickly.
